The Pen

This plastic pen
Holds the convenience
Of disposable concepts
It hovers
Over a thin veil of paper
That separates the writer
From immortality.
His muse watches
From the glass eyes of a dragon
Curled up nearby,
Silver wings half unfurled.
It holds the storm of history
And all that never was
Or was never meant to be.
The ink runs, in the way of it,
With writer’s blood,
And time begins.
