Coop Community

Writing is a solitary activity, but it shouldn't be a lonely one. Join the Coop Community and connect with other writers in and around Saskatoon.

Coop Scoop

The Coop Scoop is the Coop's electronic newsletter, emailed monthly to all Coop members, plus a few of our closest friends. If you join the Coop, you'll receive the Scoop automatically as a benefit of membership. We offer promotional opportunities to members as well as to non-members such as publishing companies and other local and national writing organizations. We invite and encourage you to submit your announcements but, first, please take a moment to read our demographic information and Coop Scoop submission guidelines.

Or have a look at a sample Coop Scoop. (You'll need the free Adobe Reader to access this. If you don't have Adobe Reader installed, get it here.)

Meetings

The Coop does not hold "member meetings" as such. We rely on our classes and workshops, open mikes, social events, website and newsletter to keep our members in touch with one another. Outside of our social events and open mikes, the Coop's one public membership meeting each year is the Annual General Meeting, usually held in March. The Coop Board, elected at the AGM, meets monthly to plan and organize the Coop's activities. Members are always welcome to attend board meetings as guests, of course; email us if you're interested. As well, non-board members are welcome to serve on one of our project teams. While these teams meet irregularly, if you join one we assume you are willing to work on one or more of the Coop's current projects, as your schedule permits and your interests dictate. Again, email us if you're interested.
